Tree Frogs

Every Winter we forget how quiet it really is until Spring arrives. Our frogs make so much noise at night beginning sometime in March. It is a welcome, happy and lively sound along with the crickets at night and the song birds during the day.
We have a blue heron that visits the ponds and I'm sure he gets plenty of frogs to fill his belly. This bird has a huge wingspan and almost looks prehistoric when it flies by. Someday I hope to get a picture of it too.
Noah, my little guy, is absolutely facinated by the frogs, toads and lizards and will play with one for hours. He's learned to be very careful after one of his little frog friends got squeezed a bit too hard.

Oh it's so cute! I miss the tree frogs we had in Northern cal. Here..I think we have some..but they are not supposed to be here and if we find them..we are supposed to call..who I don't know lol! You can hear their chirp in the distance sometimes.

One time we brought in 3 toads we found outside and put them in the bath with cam when he was little. I can still hear the giggling!

I wonder why they shouldn't be there in Hawaii. That's interesting.

Oh my, what did the toads think of taking a bath? Sounds hilarious! Noah would love that.

Hawaii worries a lot about invasive creatures..we had someone come to our door with a print out of a different kind of jackson..we are to call if we see one and it's a fine if we have one as a pet. They look the same to me..I'd have to carry the pic with me to compare if I were to ever notice.

The frogs weren't too happy..so they were hopping and splashing and cameron was giggling.
