Potted Flowers on the Porch

I haven't potted flowers for 3 years, since my youngest, Noah, came along, lol. Walmart had geraniums for $1 each, so I decided to go for it this year. I have plenty of lovely compost, so here they are! I'm really into the intensely bright colors this year.

Kelsey helping with the watering. We're really enjoying their beauty and color.

Geraniums are my personal favorite for a potted flower. They come in many colors and are either vining or regular plants. They do very well in part sun/part shade.

Petunias and impatients are also very nice. Petunias need direct sun and will tolerate part shade. Impatients should not have direct sun and can do well with only shade. If I don't have a vining geranium then I like to add in some trailing type of flower or foliage such as vinca or sweet potatoe vines.

Take notice of your growing conditions before you buy. Do you have morning sun, all day sun, afternoon sun, shade, a covered porch? Your local nursery can help you make a good choice.

Your porch looks so inviting..I want to come over and hang out and watch the sunset..sound good?

We just got some geranium slips from a woman Paul met one a few Saturdays ago..they are kinda fuschia and striped. I'll have to get a picture for you. Sadly her husband just died :( Paul promised he would bring back a keiki from this really cool alien looking plant we have..she has a lot of succulants too and he thought she would appreciate it.

That sounds lovely Jamee, but you have to watch the sunrise on that porch, lol! We could watch the sunset on the back porch though. :)

I love geraniums! That is very thoughtful of Paul to bring that widow a new flower. What a sweet man your husband is.
